Important Health Disclaimer
Hydrotherapy is not suitable for everyone. Some medical conditions mean that being in warm water, or moving in water, could cause more harm than benefit. The conditions listed on our health form are especially important, and it’s vital that you tell us about your full medical history before you get into the pool.
We may sometimes decide that hydrotherapy is not appropriate for you, or that it needs to be paused or stopped. This decision is always based on your safety and our clinical judgement. If this happens, we will discuss it with you and, where appropriate, suggest that you speak with your GP or medical team. Any pre‑booked sessions that we cancel for safety reasons will be refunded.
Weight, Safety and Emergency Support
If you weigh over 120kg (19 stone), please be aware that in an emergency where we need to help you out of the pool, we would need to use the hoist. This may delay emergency care slightly, but it is the safest option for both you and the staff supporting you.
There is no weight limit for using the pool steps when you are well and able to get in and out independently with our usual support. This information is not about judging your weight; it is simply so we can plan the safest possible care for you in all situations.
